Terms of Use
By using formatting.tech (the "site") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
1. The service
The site provides free, browser-based developer tools such as formatters, validators, converters, encoders, decoders and generators, together with articles about the formats they handle. Tools run on your device; we do not receive the content you process.
2. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the site for anything unlawful or to infringe anyone's rights;
- attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorized access to the site or its hosting;
- scrape or mirror the site in a way that places unreasonable load on it; or
- remove or obscure advertising or legal notices, or misrepresent the site as your own.
3. Your content
You keep all rights to the data you process with the tools. Because processing happens in your browser, you are responsible for the data you choose to paste or open, and for keeping backups of anything important.
4. Intellectual property
The site's design, text and code are owned by formatting.tech unless stated otherwise. Third-party libraries are used under their respective open-source licenses. You may link to any page of the site.
5. No warranty
The tools and articles are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Always review output before using it in production.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, formatting.tech is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, revenue or profits, arising from your use of or inability to use the site.
7. Third-party services and links
The site displays ads from Google AdSense and uses Google Analytics, as described in the privacy policy. Links to other websites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content.
8. Changes
We may change the tools or these terms at any time. The date above shows the latest revision. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
9. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent through the contact page.
